PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high temperature thermistor element having stable temperature characteristics of resistance under a high temperature and excellent heat-resistance and thermal shock-resistance, and a method for manufacturing this, and a temperature sensor for a high temperature. SOLUTION: This high temperature thermistor element is provided with a long plate-shaped ceramic board 11 and electrodes 13 and 14 provided in the longitudinal direction of the surface of the ceramic board 11. In this case, the ceramic board 11 is formed of at least one kind selected from among Mg(Al, Cr, Fe)2O4 system, Mg(Al, Cr)2O4 system, Mg(Al, Cr, Mn)2O4 system, (Zn, Mg) (Al, Cr, Fe)2O4 system, and (Al, Cr, Fe)2O3 system, and the electrodes 13 and 14 are turned into a non-contact state with the end parts of the ceramic board 11.
