PLASMA DISPLAY PANEL, ITS MANUFACTURE AND DISPLAY DEVICE USING IT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display panel having high luminance and high luminous efficiency further capable of high-speed and stable discharge, and to provide its manufacturing method and a display device using it. SOLUTION: Projections 23 lower than barrier ribs 21 are provided directly or indirectly on the internal surface of a substrate 20, and a phosphor 22 is formed directly or indirectly on the wall surface in a unit luminescent region(EU), including the surfaces of the projections 23, on the substrate 20 side. This enlarges an effective surface area of the phosphor 22 in the unit luminescent region(EU). Thus, high-luminance and high luminous efficiency can be realized without drastic deterioration of the phosphor 22 by an address discharge.
