PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the data processing unit by which an output to a terminal is surely conducted even when an output system of an output terminal differs even in the case that an image received via a line is outputted from other terminal on a LAN. SOLUTION: When a facsimile equipment 101 receives an incoming call, the facsimile equipment 101 detects and analyzes a Caller.ID. When the facsimile equipment 101 cannot detect it, an output printer is set. When the facsimile equipment 101 can detect it, a printer with a printer number corresponding to the telephone number registration is set as an output printer (S604). When the reception processing is finished (S605), whether or not the set output printer has a printer number 0 is discriminated, and when the prier number is number 0, an output is made to a printer of the facsimile equipment and the processing is finished (S607). In the case that the printer other than the number 0 is set, the received document is converted into an image suitable for capability of the registered printer and the converted image is transferred to an object printer on a LAN (S608, S609).
