PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid fuel by solidifying mainly waste plastics and utilize it as a fuel for a combustion unit such as room heater, etc., and enable to relieve the burden of treating the waste from every self-governing body by enabling to treat the waste individually. SOLUTION: This solid fuel F molded with a diameter not greater than 50 mm and not longer than 150 mm is formed from waste plastics discarded by general households, offices, etc., and supplies it to the general households, the offices, etc., and burns the solid fuel F in a combustion unit 1 equipped there. The combustion unit 1 for the solid fuel F is equipped with a combustion chamber 21 partitioned in the heater 11 having a flue gas stack 14, a combustion board 31 located on the opening of the combustion chamber 21 and retains and burns the combustion smoke generated from the solid fuel F burnt in the combustion chamber 21, an air entry 44 located over the heater 11 enabling regulation of opening and closing, and an air induction board 41 which forms an opening of air supply 46 over the combustion chamber 21.
