PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape cassette capable of surely controlling the position of pushing depth of the magnetic tape cassette into a recording/ reproducing device when the magnetic tape cassette is loaded into the device. SOLUTION: In this magnetic tape cassette, that magnetic reels around which the magnetic tape is wound are housed in a cassette case 1 consisting of upper and lower halves 3, 5, and the height of the magnetic tape is controlled by ribs 5a, 5b provided at the front end of the lower half 5. Position control means 9, 11 provided with walls whose height is higher than that of the ribs 5a, 5b and which is perpendicular to the cassette inserting direction are provided on the left and right sides of the lower half 5, then the pushing depth of the cassette into the device is controlled by the position control means 9, 11.
