PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently remove a clogging substance from a filter having been used for filtering a thermoplastic engineering resin soln. and thus enable the filter to be repeatedly used without decreasing the filtration capability by thermally treating the filter with a mixture of a glycol and an amine. SOLUTION: At least one glycol selected from among ethylene glycol, trimethylene glycol, and triethylene glycol is used as the glycol. The amine used may be a prim., sec. or tert. amine and is pref. at least one selected from among alkylmonoamines, alkylpolyamines, alkanolamines, and arom. amies. Pref., the content of the amine in the mixture is 5-50 wt.%. Pref. examples of the thermoplastic engineering resin are an arom. polysulfone resin, a polyarylene ether resin, a polyarylene sulfide resin, a polycarbonate resin, a polyester resin, and a polyamide resin.
