PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor-driven universal head whose a use range is enlarged by having a tripod function even by a device itself. SOLUTION: A tripod screw 2 meshes with an operation gear 3 and couples with the tripod screw of a camera main body to fix a camera on a tilting unit (hereinafter referred to as unit) by operating the operation gear 3. A protective sheet 5 covers the unit and a panning unit and the both ends thereof are fixed on the unit main body. A tilting adjusting machine screw 6 is brought in contact with tilting adjusting cams 13a and 13b. Panning is performed by changing the relative positions of the panning unit and the fixed unit through transmission gears 10 to 12 and tilting is performed by rotating an adjusting cam gear 13. A fixed unit main body 14 is provided with a rotary shaft 14a fit in the panning unit and an inner gear 14b performing panning by meshing with the gear 12 and parts 15 to 17 are legs (a) to (c) functioning as an assembled tripod, can be respectively moved independently and turned and housed when the universal head is carried.
