PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera where the housing position of a lens barrel is always set to be at a fixed position. SOLUTION: This camera 1 possesses a camera main body 2, and a box-like chassis 3 is installed inside the main body 2. A lens barrel housing 4 is fixed in the inside of the chassis 3 through an adjusting washer 46 by a screw 45. A second lens barrel 7, a first lens barrel 6 and a lens housing 5 are installed so as to be movable in the direction of an optical axis in the lens barrel housing 4. Also, the camera 1 possesses a first detecting means 8 detecting the housing position of the second lens barrel 7 in the inside of the camera main body 2 and a second detecting means 9 detecting the extended quantity of the second lens barrel 7. The first detecting means 8 is constituted of a metallic plate 82 and an armature 81 capable of being brought into contact and separating with/from the metallic plate 82, and the second detecting means 9 is constituted of a code disk 91 and the armature 92 sliding on the code disk 91.
