PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a charge device which starts charging when a charged apparatus is securely plugged in its charge base body, prevents an unstable charging condition and never causes a short-circuit accident of its contacts. SOLUTION: In relation to a charge device used to charge a charged apparatus 11 by plugging it in a charge base body 10 to connect it to contacts 21, this charge device has a structure wherein a shutter 25 to protect the contacts 21 is installed in a plug-in recessed part 12, the shutter 25 is pushed in response to the plugging of the charged apparatus 11 into the plug-in recessed part 12 and thereby, the contacts 21 are projected to be connected to the power source pads 20. Before the charged apparatus 11 is plugged in, the shutter 25 protects contact parts 44 of the contacts 21, so that a short-circuit accident or the like never occurs. When the charged apparatus 11 is plugged in, the shutter 25 lowers and the contacts 21 are so projected as to abut stably on the charged apparatus 11.
