PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical communication equipment suitable for high density mounting. SOLUTION: The optical communication equipment is provided with an optical module 23, a receptacle 24 arranged on its end part and a plug 25 constituted so as to be loaded on the receptacle 24 from an upper side. The housing 11 of the plug 25 is constituted attachably/detachably with the housing 18 of the receptacle 24. In the housing 11, the ferrule 17 is fitted to the tip part of the optical fiber 15, and the fiber 15 and the ferrule 17 are covered by a sleeve 16. A notch 13 is provided for making them movable in the optical axial direction. Just before the plug is loaded, the notch 13 is drawn, and the spring 14 is shrunk, and after the plug is loaded, the notch 13 is opened, and the spring 14 is extended, and the fiber 15 and the ferrule 17 are pushed out in the optical axial direction to be optically coupled with the optical fiber 22 of the optical module 23 side.
