PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving frame erase performance by selecting the optimum pseudo-bit error rate(PBER) threshold from among the range of PBER threshold values, especially in a low-speed frequency hopping channel having the same cyclic channel interference. SOLUTION: A burst quality metric is assigned to each burst in a frame and next, these bursts are ranked (put in order), in the order of values of assigned quality metrics. A difference between the bursts continued in the order of ranking (putting in order) is measured. The position of a maximum value (dmax) in the difference between the bursts in the order of ranking (putting in order) is used for selecting the optimum PBER threshold.
