PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a deterministic operation or an equivalent operation of plural processes or plural processors of a multiprocessing system by controlling the ownership sequence of mutual exclusion primitive (mutex) for a process and giving the deterministic execution of plural processes. SOLUTION: A multiprocessor computer system 10 consists of processing sets 12, 14 and 16 and an input-output monitor unit 18. And, it performs control to a method in which many processors in a single processing set uses mutex. That is, unit 18 performs hardware mediation and executes mutex sequence. Codes for mutex acquisition and release are changed and the monitor unit is accessed. According to such a sequence system, the unit 18 can immediately return a read success when the first processor on the first processing set reads a monitor unit mutex register.
