PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mildew removal agent compsn. which can be applied to a vertical wall surface without exhibiting sagging and, when used, emits a chlorine odor very little by compounding an aq. soln. contg. a hypochlorite and a chlorate as the effective ingredients with sodium montmorillonite. SOLUTION: An aq. soln. contg. a hypochlorite (e.g. sodium or calcium hypochlorite) and a chlorate (e.g. sodium or calcium chlorate), pref. in a wt. ratio of (1/1)-(1/5), as the effective ingredients is compounded with 5-30 pts.wt. sodium montmorillonite based on 100 pts.wt. water in the aq. soln. Since the compsn. contg. sodium montmorillonite is gelatinous, it can be applied to a vertical wall surface without exhibiting sagging, and by the synergistic action of a hypochlorite and a chlorate, the compsn. slowly releases active Cl and active O, thus killing formed mildew in a short time.
