PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To judge the attribute of a dot without mistake so as to replace an appropriate high resolution video signal by detecting attribute information of a pixel to be recorded from printing data and replacing to a low resolution video signal based on the attribute information. SOLUTION: A command scan program 101 inspects printing data 211 for one page stored in a printing data memory 206 for picking up the information related to commands concerning a character, a graphic, and an image. Since they are simple text data in the printing data 211, they can be found out easily by scanning the printing data 211 by the command scan program 101. Next, the printing data 211 are developed by a data developing program 103 so as to be image data 212 for one page and stored in an image data memory 207. Accordingly, since judgment is made with the accurate attribution information extracted from the printing data added, image deterioration due to misjudgment can be prevented.
