PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically remove a cap of various type to be removed by reverse rotating or drawing a screw mounted at a test tube, by providing an upper griper for gripping the cap and a lower gripper for gripping the test tube. SOLUTION: The remove 10 has a frame 11 having a front wall 18, a right sidewall 17, a left sidewall 19 and a rear wall 20. The remover 10 is mounted in a chassis of a sample handling unit via supports 3, 4 provided at the sidewalls 17, 19. A remover arm 12 is pivotally coupled to a driving shaft of a forward/ revere DC motor. The remover 10 has an upper gripper 22 for gripping the cap, and a lower gripper 24 for gripping a test tube. To remove the cap from the test tube, a rotating means relatively reiterates the grimmer 24 to the grimmer 22 while the grippe 22 holds the cap in a steady state and the grimmer 24 grips the test tube.
