PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition device for an internal combustion engine, a protection case molding device for the ignition device, and a protection case molding method for the ignition device, which can manufacture easily, efficiently and inexpensively even iron cores different in length and shape without exchanging a part of molding metal molds. SOLUTION: Positioning parts 11b and 12b for positioning iron cores 1 in the inside of molding metal molds, are formed up at a reference dimensional position parted from a connection part 13 by a distance greater than the size of a protection case 2 at the tip end sides of the leg parts 11 and 12 of the iron cores 1 in such a way that the molding metals 4 and 5 abut against the iron cores from their tip end sides. And the protection case 2 is integrally formed up at the same place with respect to the iron cores 1 different in length by the use of the molding metal molds 4 and 5 provided with positioning step parts 53 and 54 against which the leg parts of the positioning parts 1 1b and 12b abut respectively from the insertion sides of the leg parts 11 and 12, and with recessed parts 51 and 52 capable of receiving the respective leg parts 11 and 12 of the iron cores 1 of plural kinds and different in each tip end side.
