PURPOSE: A transmission system in an optical switching system and a method thereof is provided to decrease the number of optical line by dividing a source signal and a combined signal. CONSTITUTION: A transmission system in an optical switching system and a method thereof comprises: an antenna portion; a first frequency converter(41); a combination device(39); an electric-photo converter(31); a wavelength division multiplexer(32); a photo-electric converter(33); a divider(51); and a second frequency converter(53). The first frequency converter transmits and receives a radio wave between a medium station and a mobile station. The first frequency converter converts a frequency band of the received signal. The combination device combines the converted signal and the received signal. The electric-photo converter an electric signal to a photo signal. The wavelength division multiplexer transmits the photo signal to a base station. The photo-electric converter converts the photo signal to the electric signal. The divider divides the combined signal from an output signal of the photo-electric converter. The second frequency converter recovers the divided signal.
