PURPOSE: The video telephone can display the picture of a caller during the call using a television(44) for home uses. CONSTITUTION: The video telephone is too expensive for the general public to use, compared to other communication terminals. To down the cost of the video telephone, the video telephone displays the picture using the television for home uses without comprising an additional LCD screen or CRT to display the picture of the caller during the call. The video telephone comprises a camera(10), a first A/D converter(14) converting the analog signal from the camera to a digital image signal, an image processing part, a first D/A converter(16), a microphone(30), a second A/D converter(34), a voice processing part(22), a second D/A converter(24), an image output amplifier(18), a network connection part(36), a key pad(40), a control part(38) controlling the whole operation of the video telephone and a television.
