PURPOSE: A high chrome ferrite stainless steel is provided, which is improved in corrosion-resistance, tenacity, atmosphere-durability and seawater-resistance. CONSTITUTION: The ferrite stainless steel comprises C in a range of less than 0.015 percent by weight; N in a range of less than 0.02 percent by weight; Si in a range of less than 0.5 percent by weight; Mn in a range of less than 0.5 percent by weight; P in a range of less than 0.03 percent by weight; S in a range of less than 0.044 percent by weight; O in a range of less than 0.055 percent by weight;; Nb in a range of less than 0.36 percent by weight; Cu in a range of less than 0.5 percent by weight; AL in a range of less than 0.05 percent by weight; Mo in a range of less than 4 percent by weight; Cr in range of 21 to 35 percent by weight; and Fe being a balance, and %Nb < 12x %(C+N). Also only Nb is contained as a stabilizing element, and AL is contained in a range of making the content of O less than 0.005 percent by weight.
