PURPOSE: A ballast for a compact fluorescent lamp is provided to prevent an elastic contacting part that is a terminal tail, from breaking off and to prevent the compact fluorescent lamp from cooling. CONSTITUTION: The ballast for the compact fluorescent lamp which contains a case lower plate(19) that has a compact fluorescent lamp socket, a case upper plate(17) that is combined with the case lower plate and a PCB(1) that installs circuit components of the ballast for the fluorescent lamp, comprises: fixing supporters(4)(5) that matches matching grooves(2)(3), the PCB and a plug receiving unit(28) of the compact fluorescent lamp socket; and a terminal fixing plate(11) that fixes the elastically contacting part and intercepts heat from the fluorescent lamp to the PCB.
