PURPOSE: A pixel omission compensating method of a digital optical instrument is provided to simply perform the adjustment of the pixel omission by using the stored information in the memory piece. CONSTITUTION: The pixel omission calibrating method includes the steps of: setting the circumstances with low illumination to detect the omitted position of a pixel; minimizing the light to be charged in a semiconductor optical device according to the selection of a switching piece for performing the detection of the omitted position of a pixel; storing one screen of the image signal in a first storing piece by capturing the screen of the image signal inputted through the semiconductor optical device; and judging the pixel omission by comparing with the reference level set-up toward the whole position of the stored image signal in the first storing piece.
