PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a bubble from flowing downstream while facilitating manufacture by providing a local heater generating heat for moving a bubble relatively to a constriction shaped to form a bubble seal and controlling the flow of fluid thereby regulating the pressure of ink in a print head lower than the atmospheric pressure by a specified level. SOLUTION: The ink supply groove 16 of a pressure regulator 10 having an ink outlet 14, the ink supply groove 16 and a bubble valve 30 connects ink 24 in an ink container 22 from an ink inlet 18 to the ink outlet 14 when the valve 30 is opened. The valve 30 comprises an outlined groove 16 having an upstream part 31 and a constriction 32, and upstream and downstream heaters 34, 35 wherein an opening having smaller cross-sectional area than the upstream part of the groove 16 is made in the constriction 32 in order to form a seal of bubble being produced when the ink flowing through the rove 16 is heated. The downstream heater 35 is disposed at the constriction 32 while the upstream heater 34 is disposed in an upstream region of the groove 16 and the heater 35 and the valve 30 can control the ink flow passing through the groove 16 without generating a bubble advancing toward a print head. |
