PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure the durability of an engine without wasteful costs. SOLUTION: The computed life of a radial roller bearing 9 is obtained from an average load applied to the radial roller bearing 9 for supporting a roller 6 on a shaft 5 and observed when an engine has rated engine speed. The 10% value L10 of the computed life of the radial roller bearing 9 is set to 10000 hours or longer. The life of the radial roller bearing 9 is not shorter than that of a coil spring for an intake and exhaust valve. Thus, the radial roller bearing 9 has no relation to the life of the engine.
