摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of any trouble in a quench tower and a subsequent rectification process caused from coke contamination by controlling the operating condition of indirect cooling and the quench tower, in cooling a decompose-generated gas flowed out from a thermal cracking furnace of EDC to a prescribed temperature by indirect cooling and thereafter cooling in the quench tower. SOLUTION: This method for separating vinyl chloride is composed of cooling a cracked gas obtained by cracking 1,2-dichloroethane in a thermal cracking furnace in a heat exchanger at first, cooling in a quench tower 3 and further distilling. In the method, the cracked gas is cooled by the heat exchanger 2 to at least 350 deg.C and 80-98 wt.% of the cracked gas flowed into the quench tower 3 as a top flowed out material and residual 20-2 wt.% of the cracked gas as a bottom flowed out material are respectively extracted and controlled to be fed to a next process, and a generated coke is flowed out together with the bottom flowed out material.
