PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for an automobile capable of properly controlling a temperature difference between upper blown air and lower blown air at compound mode time, in this way, capable of attaining improvement of comfortableness of an occupant, while attaining compactness of a unit. SOLUTION: In an air conditioner for an automobile having a sliding mix door 18, a foot door 27 (lower door) constituted of a slidable door, is slide moved so as to block partly an air flow lower port 28 to an upper chamber 20 at compound mode time blowing out air from a vent blow port 21 and both a defrosting blow port 22 (upper blow port) and a foot blow port 25 (lower blow port).
