PURPOSE: An inform method and an apparatus for a replacing time of an inkjet printer's head cartridge are provided to exactly and efficiently represent the control of consumption goods by informing the remaining amount of the ink and the life passage of a head to a user by checking. CONSTITUTION: The inform device contains:a microcomputer(12) to check the amount of a printing ink, and to control the operation of a system during printing a printing data inputted form an outside in a head; a memory of a use value(13) to store the amount of the printing ink checked in the microcomputer by accumulating; a memory of a standard value(14) to offer to the microcomputer by storing a standard value judged a change time; an alarm device(15) to inform the state to a user in case of judging the change time by comparing each stored value in the memory of the use value and the memory of the standard value in the microcomputer.
