PURPOSE: A device and a method of the heating operation of an air conditioner is provided to prevent the venting of the cool air by fixing the wing for the direction of wind upward during on-operation of an interior fan. CONSTITUTION: An operation device of an air conditioner comprises:a control piece(104) comparing the temperatures of the interior heat exchanger with the predetermined latent heat elimination temperature to control the drive of an interior fan(17) and a wing for the direction of wind; an interior fan motor drive piece to turn on the interior fan according to the control signal of the control piece; and a wind direction control piece(112) fixing the angle of the wind direction of the wing for the direction of wind according to the control signal of the control piece to prevent the venting of the cool air when driving for the elimination of the latent heat by an interior heat exchanger.
