The manufacturing method is used to provide a molded switch component (11) in which at least one flat switch arm provided with a switch contact is supported, the flat material band (28,29) for the switch arm acting as part of the mold for formation of the molded switch component and extending between adjacent molded components for linking them together during subsequent manufacturing stages. An Independent claim for a switch component is also included.
