Continuous production of fatty acid esters from a biological source by contact with an inert catalyst

Production of fatty acid esters from a biological source by continuous extraction-reaction chromatography comprises contacting the biological source with an inert catalyst having chromatographic properties, in the presence of a compressed gas stream containing 0.5-5 vol.% of an 1-5C alcohol. The reaction is carried out under conditions such that the products are desorbed and eluted.
