Flame monitoring system for gas-, oil- or coal-fired burner

The flame monitoring system has a flame sensor (1), providing a signal (U1) representing the radiation emitted by the flame, supplied to an amplifier (40) providing an output signal (U5) and to a frequency-selective device (6), for activation of the amplifier upon detection of a non-periodic signal and deactivation of the amplifier upon detection of periodic signals, no flame sensor signal, or a test signal. An Independent claim for a flame monitoring method is also included.
