Microspectrometer for electron spin spectroscopy; has permanent magnets with iron short circuit, coil for magnetic field production, cavity resonator and control unit

The microspectrometer has permanent magnet plates on each side of a magnetic gap inside an air gap on an iron short circuit. Two coils (3) are arranged on the iron short circuit for magnetic field production. A cavity resonator with adjustable frequency has an integral microwave unit. The microspectrometer has at least two permanent magnet plates inside an air gap on an iron short circuit (1) on each side of a magnetic gap, which are arranged inside an air gap and can be relatively displaced perpendicular to the field lines. Two coils (3) arranged on the iron short circuit, for magnetic field production, have a time constant <= 100 ms with linear alteration of the magnetic field, for a magnetic field difference of 20 mT. A cavity resonator has an adjustable frequency and an integral microwave unit of constant output power and frequency. An Independent claim is included for a method for using the device.
