Gas fired heater has the heat exchanger block held inside a frame fitted with ceramic blocks

A gas fired heater has a heat exchanger block with a number of parallel vanes through which are fitted the ducts which form the heating coil for the heat transfer liquid. The edges of the block are contained inside a rectangular frame formed by profiled metal strips (11) which clamp ceramic blocks/strips (40) between the block and the frame. The block is retained in the frame by tags bent over from the strips. The longer sides of the frame are extended past the end frames to form mountings for fitting the heat exchanger.
