GAS BARRIER LAMINATE, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING THE SAME, AND PAPER CONTAINER MADE USING THE LAMINATE

A paper container having gas barrier properties which is produced using a laminate comprising (I) a paper layer (101), (II) a gas barrier layer (103), and (III) an epoxidized resin composition layer (104). The layer (III) is made of a resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a polyolefin (a) having a melt flow rate of 0.1 to 100 g/10 min and 0.01 to 5 parts by weight of an epoxy compound (b) containing two or more epoxy groups per molecule and having a molecular weight of 3,000 or lower. Since the layer (III) has satisfactory adhesion to the gas barrier layer (II), the laminate can be prepared without using an adhesive for dry laminating or an anchoring agent for extrusion laminating. Thus, the problem that use of an organic solvent worsens the working atmosphere or leaves its odor in the product can be avoided, and a paper container having satisfactory interlaminar adhesion strength and excellent gas barrier properties is obtained.
