Programs are executed on two computers of different classes, one processing function block references, the other converting data flow between function blocks and signal sequences specified by flow charts. Machine programs expressed in small instruction sets in one of the two computers are translated directly into graphic images, causing a direct comparison with their program specifications. Function blocks are assigned to the second computer as system programs.
