The fixed frame (1) for the window or door is firmly fastened to the masonry of the opening in the wall. The insulating double glazing (3) is held in a movable surrounding frame (5) by a batten (4) on the indoor side and an inward-extending lip which has a cutout (8) filled with an insulating batten (9) on the outdoor side. There are similar cutouts and insulating battens on the fixed frame. The movable and fixed frames are covered with aluminum sheet (6, 12) on the outdoor side, held on by fastening pegs (7).
