Isolated nucleic acids encoding zeatin O-glucosyltransferase and zeatin O-xylosyltransferase are disclosed. These nucleic acid molecules are useful, among other things, to produce transgenic plants having modified zeatin O-glucosyltransferase activity and/or modified zeatin O-xylosyltransferase activity.
