A trolley for a machine (27) capable of operating with precision on at least a section of the surface of a workpiece (99A-C), the trolley being guided by a guide band (17) secured to the said surface at least alongside the said section on which the said machine is to operate, and following the geometrical form of the said surface. The trolley comprises: a supporting structure (2), connected to which are a plurality of rolling means (5, 6, 7) engaging with the lateral edges of the guide band, and means (10) enabling the trolley to be connected to the band. The structure (2) comprises a main body (8, 9) and two identical arms (3, 4) hinged to the said body, the rolling means (5, 6, 7) being three in number, two (5, 6) connected to the said arms (3, 4) and one to the main body (8, 9).
