The regulating unit has at least a second sensor determining the angle of the steering wheel (1). First and second adjusting units (I,II) are provided, consisting respectively of an electric servo motor (6a,6b) and respectively a regulating-controlling control unit (7a,7b) designed as a process computer controlling these across an electronic power unit. Each control unit and the angle sensors (4,22) are connected together and with a supervising vehicle computer by a data bus (3). Also each control unit has an input for incoming signals corresponding to the input of the stator voltage and the stator current of the assigned servo motor.
