PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discharging characteristics of a dry cell by enhancing the rate of effective utilization of the active material without substantially increasing or decreasing the amount of active material enclosed in a cell case. SOLUTION: A shallow dimple is provided on the surface of a positive electrode black mix pellet 2 approx. in a cylindrical shape at the time of forming it by compression molding, and when the pellet 2 is set in, a narrow space is generated between the dimple and the surface of a member positioned opposing to be used as a storage 7 for electrolytic solution, and thereby the amount of retention of the electrolytic solution is increased. This heightens the rate of effective utilization of active material and improves the discharge characteristics of the cell. |
