PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a compound sintered compact with layers mutually conjugated rectangularly to the pressing direction in the sintering operation causing no cracking therein due to thermal stress. SOLUTION: This method for producing a compound sintered compact comprises packing a mold with materials so that a plurality of layers consisting of the respective materials differing in composition from one another are mutually conjugated rectangularly to the pressing direction in the sintering operation and then sintering the materials by electric discharge plasma sintering technique; wherein the pressing operation is made by altering compression ratio for each of the layers in the sintering process and the pressing faces 315, 325 are pref. concentrically divided for each of the layers. |
