PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a fixing device from being needlessly stopped when a 1st temperature detecting body for preventing excessive temperature rise and monitoring' disconnection shows abnormality. SOLUTION: This fixing device 16 is provided with a control means for controlling energizing heaters 16a and 16b from a commercial power source in accordance with the detected temperature by a thermistor 16f or 16e, and the control means cuts off energizing the heaters 16a and 16b from the commercial power source when the detected temperature by the thermistor 16f attains specified temperature. In such a case, when the thermistor 16f is disconnected, the control means judges whether the thermistor 16e is disconnected, and cuts off energizing the heaters 16a and 16b from the commercial power source when the thermistor 16e is disconnected. |
