PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous system water absorption inhibitor which gives excellent water repellency and water absorption inhibitory effect by rendering a porous material coated or impregnated therewith. SOLUTION: An aqueous system water absorption inhibitor composition is obtained by dissolving in water a hydrolyzed organosilicon compound of (A) 100 pts.wt. hydrolyzable silane of formula I: YR1mSiR23-m (wherein R1 is a substituted or non-substituted 1-8C monovalent hydrocarbon group; R2 is a 1-4C alkoxy or acrylokxy; Y is a nitrogen atom-containing organic group; and (m) is 0 or 1); (B) 5-100 pts.wt. hydrolyzable silane of formula II: SiR34 (wherein R3 is a 1-4C alkoxy or acylokxy); and (C) 5-100 pts.wt. hydrolyzable silane of formula III: R4nSiR54-n (wherein R4 is a same or different 1-10C halogen substituted or non-substituted monovalent hydrocarbon groups; R5 is a 1-4C alkoxy or an acyloxy; and (n) is 1 or 2).
