[Also in Division D1] A guide track for a follower 28 comprises a groove 32 formed in a substantially flat member 29, and a corrugated strip 31 located at the bottom of the groove. As described, member 29 is rigid with a universally-mounted worksupport in a mattress-sewing machine, see Division D1, and follower 28 is a driven gearwheel engaging strip 31 to shift a supported mattress under the needle of the machine along a path determined by the guide track. Strip 31 may be produced by passing a metal strip between a pair of meshing gears to corrugate the strip; and may be secured in groove 32 either by adhesive or by nailing. It is stated that the guide track may have application in routing patterns in wood, plastics or other materials. |
