A railway switch circuit controller (100) has a housing (102) enclosing a laterally movable platform (216) with a first and second target (228, 230) affixed thereupon. A first and second proximity sensor (220, 222) within the housing (102) is positioned to detect the first and second target (228, 230) , respectively, such that the proximity sensor (220, 222) upon detection of th e respective target (228, 230) may provide a signal.
