An idle handover control which classifies the received quality of a pilot channel in synchronization into a quality class '1' capable of receiving data without error, a quality class '2' capable of receiving data within an allowable error range or a quality class '3' not likely to receive data with a good quality and which sets different judging reference values, 6 dB, 4 dB and 2 dB in each quality class. The control judges whether or not the received quality of another pilot channel to be a synchronization candidate is higher than the received quality of the pilot channel in synchronization by more than a judging reference value corresponding to a quality class into which the pilot channel in synchronization is classified. Only when judged to be that higher, a handover processing is performed; otherwise, a synchronization status is kept for the pilot channel in synchronization without performing handover processing.
|
