PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control a light source to be stably turned on by controlling phase as for a light source controller and an image forming device utilizing the light source controller. SOLUTION: By a zero-cross detection part 15, the zero-cross point of voltage waveform rectified by the rectification part 14 of an AC power source 11 and the detection signal thereof is inputted to the interruption input INT of a microcomputer 21. By the microcomputer 21, the full-wave rectification voltage of a rectifier circuit 13 is inputted to an A/D port and time is counted with the detected zero-cross point as a reference by using software. Then the value of AC voltage is detected in timing corresponding to the counted time by using the software. Based on the detected AC voltage value the voltage value supplied to the light source 18 is decided by using the software.
