PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium processor without clogging a carrying mechanism by avoiding the falling of a medium or a foreign matter, which is shorter in its longitudinal size than a normally processed medium, into between carrying rollers in spite of throwing the medium or foreign matter from an insertion port. SOLUTION: This medium processor judges how much a pressurizing roller rotates at S7. A value T obtained by a rotary encoder is compared with a reference length TO to forward revolve a driving motor M at S8 as it is when T is equal to TO or larger and to backward revolve the driving motor M at S12 when T is smaller, and processing is executed by the flow of S13 to S15.
