PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a keyboard device allowing the application of thin type design without impairing the appearance of a key top and the operation feeling thereof. SOLUTION: A key top 2 has an upper surface made of a hard member 3, and a skirt part 4 extending from the periphery of the hard member 3 to a board 15 is made of deformable member. The forward end of the skirt part 4 comes in contact with the board 15 and is deformed in such a state as externally bent as a result of pressing down the key top 2 by use of a finger. At the same time, a switch element on the board 15 is turned on. According to this construction, the displacement of the key top 2 is accommodated by the skirt part 4, thereby ensuring the proper displacement of the key top 2. Thus, the formation of the conventional gap is not needed.
