PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the video doorphone system by which the operability in the case of reproducing a recorded image is enhanced. SOLUTION: In the video doorphone system provided with a camera doorphone slave set 1 incorporating a camera 11, a video doorphone master set 4 with a monitor 43, and a video recording unit 2 that records a video image photographed by the camera doorphone slave set 1 and sent to the video doorphone master set 4, the video doorphone master set 4 is provided with a video signal detection means 44 that detects a video signal of a reproduced image sent from the video recording unit 2 and the monitor 43 is started by receiving a detection result of the video signal detection means 44 or the started monitor 43 is stopped. The reproduced image is displayed on the monitor 43 by having only to operate a reproduction button 21 of the video recording unit 2.
