PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a servo lock time and a starting time in an optical disk device performing speed control of a motor rotating an optical disk performing recording and reproducing. SOLUTION: At the time of starting a disk motor, a CPU 41 sets polarity of a servo to the prescribed servo polarity, while switches a servo to a FG servo performing rotation control based on a signal from a sensor 46 by a servo changeover switch 45, and a disk motor 33 is drive-controlled by the CPU 41. Also, when is detected based on a signal from the sensor 46 that rotation speed reaches the prescribed rotation speed, the CPU 41 stops the FG servo, drive-control of the disk motor 33 is switched to a CLV servo based on ADIP by driving the servo changeover switch 45.
